Description:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer I - Platform Engineering to take a leading hands-on role in extending Aurigo DevHub. You will design and build new Backstage plugins, harden the platform on AWS EKS, modernize our CI/CD on GitHub Actions, and shape the golden paths that every Aurigo engineer uses to ship.
You should be equally comfortable writing production Node.js plugin code, debugging a React component in the Backstage frontend, authoring a reusable GitHub Actions workflow, and writing the Terraform that puts it all on EKS. You like solving problems for other engineers, not just for one team.
Requirements:
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in platform engineering, developer experience, or internal tooling.
- Hands-on experience with Backstage — building or maintaining production Backstage plugins (frontend and backend) and operating a Backstage deployment.
- Strong Node.js / TypeScript for backend services, with production-quality code, testing discipline, and an instinct for clean APIs.
- Strong React for plugin frontends and dashboards — proficient with modern hooks, state management, and component design.
- PostgreSQL depth — schema design, query optimization, migrations, operating on Amazon RDS or Aurora.
- GitHub Enterprise + GitHub Actions — writing reusable workflows, custom actions, environments, rulesets; familiarity with GitHub Advanced Security is a plus.
- AWS — comfortable with the core services (VPC, IAM, ALB, Route 53, KMS, S3) and how they fit together.
- Amazon EKS — Helm, Kustomize, ArgoCD or FluxCD, day-2 operations.
- Strong written communication — you can write a design doc, a runbook, and a TechDocs page that other engineers will actually read.
- Education – B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech (circuit branches only).
