This role requires someone who can build a documentation function, work closely with product managers and engineers to stay current with a rapidly evolving product portfolio, and apply AI tools to scale documentation output without proportional headcount growth.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Own and maintain Aurigo's complete product documentation library including help files, in-app help guides, user manuals, release notes, and API documentation across all product lines.
- Build and enforce documentation standards, templates, and style guides across all products.
- Partner with product managers and engineers to capture new features, changes, and deprecations ahead of each release.
- Develop and maintain in-app help content including contextual tooltips, guided walkthroughs, and onboarding flows in close collaboration with the UX team.
- Own API and integration documentation for the Aurigo developer and partner ecosystem.
- Produce structured release notes that serve both internal go-to-market teams and external customers.
- Build a documentation production workflow that leverages AI tools to accelerate first drafts, maintain consistency, and handle high-volume release cycles.
- Manage the documentation portal and ensure content is organised, searchable, and up to date.
- Gather feedback from customer support, customer success, and the field to identify documentation gaps and prioritize improvements.
- Track documentation usage metrics and customer self-service success rates to continuously improve content quality and coverage.
Soft Skills
- Exceptional written communication. Produces clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation without extensive editing.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in a high-stakes enterprise software environment.
- Ability to distil complex technical concepts into clear and accessible language for non-technical audiences.
- Highly organised and able to manage documentation across multiple products and release cycles simultaneously.
- Collaborative and proactive in working with product, engineering, and customer-facing teams.
Hard Skills
- Proven experience building and managing enterprise software documentation programs.
- Strong technical writing skills across multiple content types including user guides, API documentation, release notes, and in-app help.
- Experience working directly with product managers and engineers to translate features into user-facing documentation.
- Ability to use AI writing and documentation tools to scale content production.
- Familiarity with documentation management platforms and content management systems.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- 8 or more years of experience in technical writing or product documentation, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role.
- Proven experience managing documentation for complex B2B SaaS or enterprise software products.
- Experience building documentation programs from an early or immature state.
- Exposure to North American enterprise software markets. Domain knowledge in capital program management or related fields is a strong plus.
- Experience using AI tools to scale documentation production and manage high-volume release cycles.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as Confluence, MadCap Flare, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with API documentation standards and tools.
- Ability to use AI writing tools to accelerate first drafts and maintain documentation at release cadence.
- Basic understanding of SaaS platform architecture to enable accurate technical documentation.
- Experience with in-app help and user onboarding tools preferred.
